Last week, 343 Industries released Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the latest title in the Halo series, and it’s a big one.

Jam-packed with Halo content, the game includes Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4, and over 100 multiplayer maps from the four games.

Halo: Master Chief Collection

Halo 2’s campaign has been remastered with brand new graphics, music, and sound effects.  The cinematics have been completely redone in spectacular fashion.  And six Halo 2 multiplayer maps have received a graphical make-over along with added interactive elements.  (Don’t worry, the originals are still there, too!)Halo 2 Anniversary: Stonetown

Halo 1’s campaign includes the remastered graphics featured in Halo: CE Anniversary.  Halo 3 and 4 remain largely untouched, but all four games benefit from an increase to 1080p resolution and 60 frames/second.

Add to this a brand new Forge mode, complete with scripting, switches, precision placement and rotation, snapping, terrain objects, and a performance meter, and you have a recipe for an unparalleled amount of creativity for custom games.

And to top it all off, Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes a whopping 450 achievements.  Yes, you read that right.

Having unlocked all the achievements in all eight Halo games, I am both excited and overwhelmed.  When I was interviewed earlier this year by Jessica Shea (AKA bs angel) at 343i about completing all the achievements, she promised they had more in store.  Looking back, I don’t think I realized at the time what I’ve gotten myself into.

Halo is responsible for much of the Gunslingers’ history.  Our clan was forged on the battlefields of Halo 2.  Skirmishes long past still live on in our war stories.  The journey to the Dark Tower of Relic.  Fighting the Battle of Terminal.

Many TTL traditions find their origins in Halo.  Operation: Sweet Jumps.  ‘Nade the Hog.  The occasional friendly round of betrayals.

Even our name “Tied The Leader” is an homage to Halo’s multiplayer announcer.

One thing’s for sure, the Gunslingers are prepped and ready for action.  Our Battle Rifles are loaded and our Warthogs’ engines are running.  You can find us in matchmaking, doing what we’ve done since Tied The Leader was founded.

After all, We Deal In Lead.
